What's the first step in taking control?
Commit to making a Change!
All Progress & Success is the Result of Change
Not some progress, but all progress is a result of change, commitment, & willingness to want change. It doesn't matter if you want a better marriage, a healthier weight, or a better relationship with your children, the only way your going to make it better is through CHANGE.
There's only one problem, most people have never gotten a single hour of training in how to change themselves. It begins with this:
Taking control of your mind in the midst of change & staying true to what you want.
Learn to let go of fear in making change. Don't allow negative thoughts stop you from moving forward and succeeding.
Make & Keep a commitment to change so change really can happen.
In reading articles by Psychologist Dr Alan Zimmerman, he notes people always say that "Knowledge is Power", but should it really be that "Application of Knowledge is Power"? Change will only occur when the knowledge you have is applied.
When will I know I'm ready for commitment to change? Consider these:
Just do it, if you know it's the right thing to do. Don't wait for the perfect set of conditions to take place before you do something. The perfect time never comes.
Just do it, no matter how old you are. No age or time of life, no circumstances has a monopoly on success. Any age is the right age to start, as you have a choice to begin to make change.
Just do it, without getting stuck in the past or the future. Psychologist Abraham Maslow discovered, "I can feel guilty about the past, apprehensive about the future, but only in the PRESENT can I act. The ability to be in the present moment is a major component of pure happiness. Each day is filled with the opportunity of CHOICE & CHANGE in what you do when your in the present moment.
Realize the importance of today. Nothing is worth more than this day & what happens today. Keep your focus on the positive, make solid choice of what will impact your day to be successful. Appreciate all the positive simple things within your day. Your ability to do simple things that you take for granted, do them, appreciate that you can do them & be proud that you've accomplished doing it. Make time to take that 20 minute walk to relax & feel refreshed. Make time to give your children a hug that they'll appreciate. Make time to tell someone that you love them. Passing along positive energy, will make you feel empowered!
When you focus on what you have & what you can accomplish in a day, you'll find JOY in your day!
I invite you to join me in making your commitment to change that will last a life time.
